A Toast to Stuart Gordon
Stuart Gordon is probably best known to any horror fan as the director of Re-Animator, but there’s much more that we should all be thanking him for. As huge H.P. Lovecraft fans ourselves, we admire Gordon for the many other Lovecraft inspired films he’s brought us like Dagon, Castle Freak and From Beyond. And while his list of accomplished films isn’t as long as some others, Stuart Gordon did impact the horror & sci-fi world with his work. Re-Animator went to cult status and for good reason. It’s without a doubt, one of the most original movies out there with a perfect blend of gore and comedy. We can’t help but find ourselves watching it every few months. So for having brought us hours of entertainment, we’d like to give a toast to Mr. Stuart Gordon.
Hearty Stew-art Gordon-
Ingredients:
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 15 oz cans tomato sauce
6 peeled red potatoes, cubed
5 peeled carrots, sliced
1 15 oz can peas
1 lb of beef stew meat
1 onion, chopped
salt & pepper
ketchup to taste
Directions:
Dice onion and saute on medium heat with olive oil in large pot. Add meat and continue cooking until lightly browned. Add tomato sauce and let simmer. Chop carrots and potatoes and add to the pot. Cover completely, lower heat and stir every 15 minutes for 1 1/2 hours. Add salt, pepper and ketchup to taste. Serve with warm bread.
Here’s to hoping we see more from Stuart Gordon soon. And stay tuned for many more recipes from us to be paired with his films.
