Slash & Dine Contributes to the Huffington Post’s “Unconventional Thanksgiving Recipes”
Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Can you smell the sage in the air? While we all look forward to stuffing ourselves and laying helplessly on the couch afterward, we came up with an idea of how to handle those leftovers. You may have seen the new trend of “cake in a jar” so we thought “Thanksgiving in a jar” would be just as good (if not better!) After a Halloween interview with the Huffington Post (read it HERE), they reached out to us again asking for a unique recipe for Turkey Day. We’re super excited to be among the best of Chicago’s chefs and foodies in this really cool piece they put together with unconventional Thanksgiving recipes. We’ve included our recipe below, but make sure to click HERE and check out all of the awesome ideas. Thanksgiving In A Jar-
2 cans of cranberry sauce
chives or green onions, finely chopped, for garnish
Start with a layer of stuffing. Add cranberry sauce – we used the jellied kind so that we could slice it. Add turkey and keep layering until you get to the top. Add mashed potatoes to a pastry bag and pipe a swirl on top. You can also just spoon some on the top. Sprinkle with chives or green onions. Ready to serve.
